To moja pierwsza styczność z Tolkienem w grach fabularnych, ale gdy tylko pojawiły się informacje że mój ulubiony wydawca będzie odpowiedzialny za drugą edycję to wyczekiwałem jej z niecierpliwością. Sam podręcznik jest wydany pięknie, grafiki robią wrażenie i są mega klimatyczne, szczególnie te za które był odpowiedzialny Martin Grip znany przede wszystkim z grafik w podręcznikach z serii Alien. Mechanika jest dla mnie nowa, ale jest bardzo prosta i intuicyjna, świetnie odzwierciedla miks heroizmu i mroku jaki panuje w Śródziemiu. Bestiariusz jest dość skromny, ale myślę że rozszerzy się wraz z kolejnymi dodatkami. Eriador jest dość obszernie opisany ale wydaje mi się dość pustym miejscem nie licząc kilku miejsc jak Bree, Shire czy Szara przystań. Brakuje mi jednak solidnego wsparcia dla MG, generatorów przygód, miejsc na szkielecie których można by było stworzyć niezapomniane przygody jak np. w Forbidden Lands. Ostatnią rzeczą do której mógłbym się przyczepić jest cena, ponieważ prawie 200 zł za podręcznik który jakością i obszernością ustępuje np. czwartej edycji Warhammera to jest moim zdaniem skandal. Wciąż jednak jest to dobra gra która idealnie nadaje się na podróże po Śródziemiu, a przynajmniej po jego części.
