Piąta edycja Wampira jest zdecydowanym ulepszeniem hitu sprzed około 20 lat.
Obecne wydanie pomijając szatę graficzną, która jest rzeczą gustu (ja osobiście znacznie bardziej wolałem poprzednie czarno białe grafiki, niż obecne zdjęcia i rozbijanie teksu na 3 kolumny) jest we wszystkim innym ulepszoną wersją poprzedniej gry.
Doszło wiele bardzo fajnych mechanik upraszczających, upłynniających i poprawiających rozgrywkę. Jest to przede wszystkim mechanika Głodu na reszcie oddająca pełniej i lepiej wampirze łaknienie; nowe i znacznie bardziej elastyczne podejście do Człowieczeństwa (pozwalające dopasować "grzechy" częściowo do kampanii a z drugiej strony graczom pod swoją wizję postaci) wyraźnie podkreślające jednocześnie nieludzką naturę wampirów; nowe. opcjonalne wampirze moce dające nareszcie jakieś opcje wyboru i urozmaicające postacie bohaterów i NPCów; i jeszcze trochę innych fajnych zmian.
Co do zmian samego settingu to znowu kwestia gustu natomiast bez wątpienia łatwiej jest samodzielnie zmienić i dopasować do swoich upodobań setting gry niż jej mechanikę. Mi osobiście nowe spojrzenie na nieżycie wampirów zmagających się z drugą Inkwizycją i zdecydowane odsianie nadmiaru starszych wampirów z politycznej sceny się podoba.
Generalnie, bardzo polecam zarówno fanom starej maskarady jak i nowym graczom, którzy chcą zapoznać się z uniwersum Wampira.
